New Identity – Brings Victory

Grab those words you received over the past years and get out those prophecies long ago laid aside. This coming year you are going to be unstoppable. Like the song The Blessing, He is going before you and beside you and behind you, blessing all around you until you cry out STOP – I can’t take any more blessing. (Can you even imagine saying that? This moment I have trouble doing so.)

You will walk in it; Victory will not only be on you but will be literally chasing you down. Before your year is over God is going to restore to you double for all the trouble the enemy of your soul has caused.

When you are going out – Victory

When you are in your house – Victory

When you are at your job – Victory

When the doctors report comes back – Victory

I heard the Lord speak these words of great victory and I couldn’t help but ask Him, “How will this be when it appears we are in the face of great turmoil in the nations.  And how many times over the past years have we heard the words victory, only to be met with goliath after goliath after goliath?”

He responded to me with, “Great victory comes during times of great distress, but to walk in the victory I have for you it takes change – a change of identity. New wine is never poured in old wineskins.

Revelation 2:17 TPT

But the one whose heart is open, let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is presently saying to all the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will let him feast on the hidden manna and give him a shining white stone. And written upon the white stone is inscribed his new name, known only to the one who receives it.

He said, “I have a shining white stone with a new name and identity on it for all whose hearts are open and are listening to what the Spirit is saying.”

Victory requires change as a caterpillar turns in to a butterfly so must we be changed. To move forward we must push past the fear of change and embrace the new being presented before us.

There is a world of God’s “new” beyond the limitations of our imaginations – if only we could see what He sees! We keep wanting to go back to normal when God wants to lead us into a new normal.

Rev 21:5 says Behold I am making all things new. I am changing identities. I am changing your identity!

The disciples in the upper room, still reeling from the events that had happened over the past months, went from a fearful uncertain group of people praying together one minute to Holy Spirit empowered world changers the next.

Fisherman had experienced business failure after business failure until Jesus entered their boat and partnered with them. One’s days work provided the finances needed for their ministry and families.

Moses went from a man running from his past, full of shame and hiding in the desert to a mighty deliver of a nation. Listening to me tonight there are NATION changers. Will you receive a new identity and move into victory?

Deborah had to change her identity and pick up a sword to protect her nation. I know women who have done that in this season, Troy our moderator for one, and there are many many more out there listening right now.

I have heard some say they don’t understand a God who heals the sick and raises the dead yet all around them is death and grief in families. I get that. But this is an hour where are perceptions do not change what God is doing around us. Please, I don’t mean to be insensitive in saying that, only that we need to see things differently.

The cross was not the completion of our salvation, rather the beginning. It is time to press through, cross over and leave our wilderness and cave. Time to step into the NEW of Revelations 21  – a New Identity God has designed for us. It is time to be changed from glory to glory to glory into His image.

The last years have been full of hope deferred, wounded expectations, broken hearts and dreams, fear, bondages, depression. We navigated it like searching for a flashlight in a power outage. Stumbling about, confused, … It is time to shine that light, rise up in hope and grasp a New identity.

The Lord of Hosts is saying from this day forward NOTHING can stop you from entering your New Identity unless you let it. Nothing! The Lord Himself is making you into a new threshing instrument fully empowered for this hour and all that stands in His way is You. Can I say that again – The Lord Himself is making you into a new threshing instrument fully empowered for this hour and all that stands in His way is You.

In Psalms 32 it says, “I hear the Lord saying, I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life.  I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!” So, my conclusion is this: Many are the sorrows and frustrations of those who don’t come clean with God. But when you trust in the Lord for forgiveness, his wraparound love will surround you.”

Jacob in Genesis 28 had lived up to his name as an imposter, deceiver, and trickster and was forced to leave his community. Isaac sent him off to find a wife and reaffirmed the blessing. May God Almighty bless you and make you fertile, multiply you that you may become an assembly of peoples. May God extend to you and your descendants the blessing of Abraham, so that you may gain possession of the land where you are residing.

On the first night of his journey the Lord led him to a certain place, other translations say he lighted on a place or was drawn. Jacob was being drawn into his first encounter recorded with the Lord of Hosts, the great I AM.

We as Kingdom people in the last days are also being drawn into encounters with the great I AM. A place where He desires to meet with us and show Himself strong. I pray each one of us is sensitive to that drawing and does not miss the day of our visitation.

Chapter 28 starting in verse 12 says Then he had a dream: a stairway rested on the ground, with its top reaching to the heavens; and God’s angels were going up and down on it. It is interesting how theologians have determined through Jewish history that this stairway had the appearance, or was, a DNA strand. Something to think about.

And there was the Lord standing beside him, some translations say He was above and around him. Jacob was literally entombed, like a supernatural womb in the glory and presence of God. Not sure about you, but I WANT encounters like that, even if it means falling on my face in fear before Him, I want that. Like John when he seen Jesus on the Isle of Patmos, I want that.

Now comes the promise – I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you are lying I will give to you and your descendants. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and through them you will spread to the west and the east, to the north and the south. In you and your descendants all the families of the earth will find blessing. I am with you and will protect you wherever you go and bring you back to this land. I will never leave you until I have done what I promised you.

I will Bring you back to this land. Too many times we receive a word from the Lord and don’t catch key phrases in it, I will bring you back – you will leave this place and then return at a later point. Our hearts seem to never be ready for the fullness of a promise when it is given. It takes time, it takes discipline and correction to our hearts, it takes supernatural alignments around us, to complete promises made. A promise is not received in a fast-food drive-up window, it is prepared, prayed into, and revealed.

In verse 20 Jacob makes a vow to the Lord and it’s the vows we Must return to in this hour. Prov 20:25 says, “Be careful in making a rash promise before God, or you may be trapped by your vow and live to regret it. Jonah learned the hard way and in Jonah 2:9 said, “that which I have vowed I will pay” When we return to the vows we made, God honors the promises He made.

20 years later Jacob returns to that place, or we could say, was brought back to that place. The number 20 is a cycle of completion, coming full circle, returning yet completing. 2 Chronicles 20:20 says, “Believe and trust in the Lord your God and you will be established (secure). Believe and trust in His prophets and succeed.” AMP

Jacob returns to that place, still a manipulator and deceiver, full of fear, and once again is met by the Lord of Hosts. We watch in chapter 32 of Genesis as Jacob’s dominant old nature wrestles with God throughout the night watches, not sure about you but I have wrestled with God in the flesh many many times and through it learned He is not real interested in my comfort. He is interested in the PROMISE.

What level of compromise we you entertaining that arise from our old nature? The time must come to move from walking by faith to being a carrier of His glory. Faith is a starting point to the supernatural. Most faith being taught today is nothing more than positive thinking and void of any supernatural signs and wonders.

It is interesting also that throughout the scriptures, Jacob, when walking in his New identity was referred to as Israel, which means partnering with God, or speaking as His representative. Each time he fell back into his carnal nature he was referred to as Jacob. It makes for a great study!

Hosea 12:2 says of the Genesis 32 moment in time, “He will punish Jacob in accordance with his ways and will repay him in accordance with his deeds”. The word punish can also mean to visit or return to a starting place. Hosea says Jacob wept in repentance and sought the favor of the Lord. Another interesting fact, if you needed one, is how Esau is spoken of in Hebrews, that he also sought the blessing, not the Lord but the blessing, with many tears but it was too late and no ground for repentance could be found. Jacob found forgiveness, Esau did not. But one sought the blessing and the other the harvest. Big difference there.

To move into his future Jacob had to have a “new identity”. Like the caterpillar turned butterfly, he had to go from his old nature of deceiver, manipulator, and imposter to one who speaks or represents God in the earth.  Jacob said, “I will not let You go unless You declare a blessing on me. So, the Lord asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob. And He said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”

A NEW Identity had to be established for Jacob to move in the manifest destiny prepared since the foundations of the world for him.

There is a world of God’s “new” beyond the limitations of our imaginations – if only we could see what He sees! We keep wanting to go back to normal when God wants to lead us into a new normal. (Heard that recently at a conference but can’t remember which one – apologies to who said it.)

Rev 21:5 says Behold I am making all things new. I am changing identities. I am changing your identity!

Revelation 2:17 TPT

But the one whose heart is open, let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is presently saying to all the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will let him feast on the hidden manna and give him a shining white stone. The Lord Jesus says, “I have a shining white stone with a new name and identity on it for all whose hearts are open and are listening to what the Spirit is saying.”.

Are we ready to step into a New Identity, prepared by the Lord Himself?

Are you ready to recover what was lost? Will you go after it?

Will you be like David, who started life as David the Shepard and had his identity changed to King David? David, when seeking the Lord after a great loss was told -YES RECOVER ALL, I AM WITH YOU!

David and his men risked losing all by obeying the will of God. Against great odds and soulish attacks David sought the Lord and made the decision to press into the new. They launched out on a promise of recovery of ALL that was lost.

Now I know there are men and women listening to me right now who have lost all. Possibly a financial loss which completely wiped you out. The Lord of Hosts desire is for you to recover all that has been lost. All

In this season of recovery and restoration it is essential we launch our boat one more time and possibly fish a little different than before. The impossible is about to come face to face with the God of possibilities, which goes above and beyond anything we imagined. We can take back. We can occupy. It might take a new identity and pressing in, but if God be for us WHO then is it than can say “you can’t come up here?”

We have a friend in ministry who was flying into a certain communist country back in the 1990 for the 3rd time, after being jailed by this country’s second in command the time before. (Which by the way, that leader is now serving the Lord in there in the middle of oppression!!)   On that flight, outside the window of the plane, a high-level demon appeared and told him, “You can’t come in here – I will destroy your life if you do.” Did he have opposition? Absolutely. They even tried to kidnap his children right out of school. But this country today has thousands of Pastors and leaders trained by this leader and great revival is sweeping that nation because he knew the great one lived inside of him.

What if Moses refused to remove his shoes and face the fire of God? Would that nation had been delivered?

What if the disciples gave up and went home, deciding not to wait, I mean after all it has been 119 days since Jesus’s appearance, and nothing has happened?

What if Transformation Michigan had not pressed through 404 days and counting. Could our nation be in a worse state as a result?

So, the point of saying all this has been – Jesus is handing out White Stone with new identities on them to all who are willing to meet Him at their place of promise. Are you willing to meet with Him?
