Prayers that AVAIL

The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. James 5:16 Amp.

Lists – we all have them. Long lists with promises held on to for decades. God is good and answers the prayers of the righteous for sure. The list I have holds promises and prophetic words spoken over us dating back to the 1990’s which we are waiting for the manifestation of.

So I don’t get long and windy here – let’s get to the point.

A couple weeks ago in the afternoon I was resting and meditating on some seemly unanswered prayers. In the spirit a blackboard appeared, floor to ceiling with MY prayer list on it. The slate was tear stained and old, but it was mine. I studied it for a few minutes, going over each one, repeating the promised God had spoken in each area, as I awaited some glorious halleluiah moment in which He would thunder, “AS IT IS WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE. ”

Well, that didn’t happen. Instead the arm of the Lord Jesus appeared with an eraser. He said, “Erase the board Nan, wipe it clean!” I looked at the eraser, then the board, and back to the eraser. “Lord, these are your promises, spoken and confirmed over our lives. How can I erase them? YOU promised!” But arguing with the Jesus never prevails, so I took the eraser, and slowly cleared the board of years and years, did I say YEARS, of promises. Clean slate.

We stood there together for a few moments gazing at the empty board, then Jesus pulled up another black board, (like the blackboards you see which slide over each other). It was full of prayers, but not mine. “Lord, what is this?” I asked.

He said, “Will you pray over the desires of my heart for your city, nation, and nations of the world? Will you take My list as your own? I have great plans and purposes that you can assist Me with. Will you pray?” (He said more but I am not sharing it yet)

Looking at His prayer list, some elegantly written, others old and needing special care, I whole heartily agreed; as I did, another blackboard appeared in His hand. Looking closely I seen it was my list, and He said, “As you take care of Kingdom business on this board, I will take care of your list for you.”

Oh the wonders of His glorious grace and mercy toward us who believe. Seek first HIS “list” Kingdom, and all the rest “your list” will be added to you. Keep the Faith!
